The School Day

 

The school day at St. Mary's CEP is as follows:- 

Years R/1/2 - 8.40am - 3.10pm

Years 3, 4, 5 & 6  - 8.40am to 3.15pm

This equates to a 6.5-hour school day/32.5-hour school week in line with DfE expectations. 

Arrival

School gates open at 8.40am.

Children in Classes R, 1 and 2 need to be brought to the Laureston Place gate.

Children in Classes 3, 4, 5 and 6 need to be brought to the Maison Dieu gate.

Adults dropping the children off will not be able to come on site. Staff will be on the gate/playground where the children are to make their way to class/line up.

Collection at the end of the day

Children in Class R, 1 and 2 will need to be collected from the Laureston Place gate - the gate opens at 3:10pm.

Children in Class 3, 4, 5 and 6 will need to be collected from the bottom playground; parents will need to enter the Maison Dieu gate, walk up the slope and stand in their designated area on the bottom playground - the gate opens at 3:10pm and the children will be dismissed by their class teacher at 3:15pm.

*If you have a message for the class staff or school office please email or telephone. Alternatively, you can speak to Mr Lamprell, Mrs Wallis or Mrs Morris, who are regularly on the gate.

Typical School Day

8:40am - The school gates open

9am - Registration

9:05-9:20am - Collective Worship

9:20-10:30am - Reading/English/Maths

10:30-10:45am - Break

10:45-12pm - Reading/English/Maths

12-1pm - Lunch

1-3pm - Wider curriculum/RE/PE

3:10/3:15pm - Children dismissed
