Sports Funding
At St. Mary’s Church of England (Voluntary Aided) Primary School we aim to establish a sporting culture that enables and encourages all children to play and enjoy sport. We have established after-school clubs and lunchtime activities for our pupils offering a wide variety of sporting opportunities for our children. We enter numerous school sport competitions to allow children to be competitive and are constantly developing our PE programme.
We use the Government's sports funding to promote a healthly lifestyle and well-being through enjoyment of physical activity by providing opportunities for all children to participate in a range of sports, encouraging them to try new ones, and promoting participation in competition. In so doing we are able to identify children with particular skills and talents in sports, and ensuring that provision enables them to further develop these.
